Indications/Uses
For convulsion due to eclampsia & as electrolyte or IV additive.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild Mg deficiency
Adult
1 g 6 hrly for 4 doses.
Anticonvulsant
1 g IV or IM.
Severe renal impairment
Max: 20 g in 48 hr.
Contraindications
Heart block or myocardial damage.
Adverse Reactions
Flushing, sweating, hypotension, circulatory collapse, cardiac & CNS depression, resp depression.
